Stinger SuperSeeder 2400 24″ Power Seeder

Stinger SuperSeeder 2400 24-Inch Hydrostatic Walk-Behind Power Seeder The SuperSeeder 2400 is Stinger’s 24-inch walk-behind power seeder. Twelve counter-rotating blades, each 8.5 inches in diameter and spaced 2 inches apart, cut a 24-inch band down to 1.5 inches deep, fed from a 45 lb seed hopper. A Honda GX390 (390cc, 11.7 hp) turns the blades and drives a hydrostatic transmission. Setting Depth and Seed Flow on the SuperSeeder 2400 Depth is set with the blades off: squeeze the depth control lever, rotate the handle forward until the blades touch the ground, then push one more notch, which Stinger’s manual says suits most applications. Seed flow runs from 1 to 11 on a dial locked with a wing nut; higher numbers deliver more seed, and each seed type needs its own setting. For full coverage, Stinger’s tip is two passes over the lawn at right angles to each other. Trigger Control on the SuperSeeder Press the yellow safety on the handlebar, then squeeze either trigger to move forward; more pressure means more speed, up to 4 mph. A thumb pad gives reverse at up to 2 mph. A bypass valve puts the transmission in neutral so the machine rolls by hand, and the controls use hard linkages rather than cables. Lift the blades out of the ground for every turn. SuperSeeder 2400 Data Engine: Honda GX390, 390cc, 11.7 hp Blades: 12, 8.5 in diameter, 2 in spacing Seeding width: 24 in; depth to 1.5 in Seed capacity: 45 lb Speed: 4 mph forward, 2 mph reverse Production: 0.97 acre per hour Fuel tank: 1.6 gal Weight: 330 lb; 35.5 in wide, 61 in long, 47 in tall Tires: 13 x 5.00-6 Greasing the SuperSeeder’s Cutting Shaft Two bearings carry the cutting shaft and one carries the engine shaft; grease all three every 50 hours. Inspect the blade belt at the same interval, or once a year. It tensions itself: with the blade engagement lever off, remove the belt cover, note the routing, fit the new belt and refit the cover. SuperSeeder 2400 Beside the Dual-Aer 2475 The SuperSeeder shares its 35.5-inch width, 61-inch length and 13 x 5.00-6 tires with the Dual-Aer 2475 aerator, and both take Stinger’s walk-behind sulky. For aerating and seeding in a single pass instead, Stinger builds its riding Quad-Aer, GT30 and Slim-Aer aerators with a factory SeedBox. · Stinger
