Stinger GT30 30″ Riding Aerator
Stinger GT30 30-Inch Riding Aerator With Kawasaki FT730V EFI The GT30 is the higher-speed 30-inch machine in Stinger’s riding aerator line. Its fuel-injected Kawasaki FT730V is rated at 26 hp and carries the GT30 at up to 9.7 mph forward, and Stinger rates it at up to 2.5 acres per hour, which it describes as 25 percent faster than the Quad-Aer 3000. Starting the GT30’s Fuel-Injected Engine Electronic fuel injection takes the choke out of the start routine: turn the key to position II, release it once the engine fires, let it warm up, then slide the throttle forward. The manual caps engine speed at 3,600 rpm and notes that a lower rpm also slows the machine. A 6-gallon tank feeds the engine, and the manual specifies unleaded fuel of 86 octane or higher with no more than 10 percent ethanol. GT30 Size and Ratings Engine: Kawasaki FT730V EFI, 26 hp Speed: 9.7 mph forward, 3 mph reverse Aerating width: 30 in; depth up to 4 in Production: up to 2.5 acres per hour Fuel capacity: 6 gal Length: 67.5 in, 58.5 in with platform up Height: 47 in Drive tires: 18 x 7.00-10 Keeping the GT30 Tracking Straight If the GT30 pulls to one side, the manual’s tracking adjustment corrects it: slide the clip up off the rod end at the hydrostatic motor and turn the rod end clockwise to speed up that side or counterclockwise to slow it. A separate stop limits reverse speed; slide it forward to slow reverse travel or back to allow more. Torque the wheel motor castle nut to 150 ft-lb and the lug nuts to 98 ft-lb after the first 15 hours, then every 200 hours. GT30 With or Without a SeedBox The SeedBox 30 fits the GT30 as an attachment, and Stinger also builds the GT30 with the SeedBox installed at the factory. Against the Quad-Aer 3000, which shares the 30-inch width and Kawasaki-powered hydraulic drive, the GT30 swaps the QA3000’s FS651 and 7 mph top speed for fuel injection and 9.7 mph. · Stinger
